Dinamo Productions Ltd

Peter Hodges Head of Animation, Huw Swayne Head of Communication Design and Maureen Brown Lecturer in visual studies and animation all academics of the University of Glamorgan, undertook placements with Dinamo Productions Ltd, an innovative animation production company producing high quality 2D and 3D Digital Animation and Visual Effects for TV, film and the web. Dinamo has produced a number of successful children's programmes for CBBC including "Grandpa in my Pocket" and "Rastamouse" The SIP placements allowed the university to understand the company's requirements in the areas of digital skills and technology needs which has led to curriculum improvement and the identification of collaborative project ideas including:

• —Successful Knowledge Transfer Partnership to develop
  asset based 3D CG models
• —Hosting of Masters Students in Digital media through the
  Access to Masters programme
• —Collaborating on Digital Gaming project with Games Lab
  (A4B Knowledge Transfer Centre)

The partners are also exploring other ways that collaboration could support the animation and VFX area of the company.
